Spring into sports and outdoor promotional products
Spring is here and what better promotional gift than something to get people enjoying the outdoors... such as a frisbee, boomerang or Super Flyer made from recycled plastic?

Sports Drinks/Water Bottles are a great way to deliver a promotional message at the same time as helping the environment, since they reduce the need for disposable water bottles.
All our water bottles comply fully with EU and UK food safety regulations and are both 100% recyclable and 100% biodegradable.

Promotional Pens Printed with your Logo
Can you print our logo?
A frequently asked question is can you print our logo? There is no simple answer as a lot depends on several factors.
- Which format is the logo in? The answer can vary from a hard copy letterhead to a rough idea scribbled on the back on an envelope. Since all or part of most printing processes nowadays is done digitally, the artwork has to be created electronically. Illustrator and Coral Draw are two artwork packages used as standard in the promotional products industry. Artwork has to be created, not imported, in one of these applications. JPG, TIFF and BMP files are usually too rough around the edges to be used as artwork, although a high resolution JPG may work as long as it is in black.
- Once created as vector artwork, the artwork should be saved as an EPS file with all text converted to outlines. This is important to avoid any font issues, if the font is not converted to outlines and the font is not resident in the receiver's computer, a different font will be substituted.
- Recent advances in artwork software means that if all else fails; a logo can be redrawn quickly and cheaply in the right format.
- Most promotional products are printed using silk screen printing, where the image to be printed is etched onto a screen, literally made of silk and ink passes through the etched lines onto the product to form the printed image. All artwork starts out in black and it is the colour of the ink which determines the print colour. Pantone colour reference numbers are used to identify colours and maintain uniform print colours on every print run.
- Some logos look like they have been designed to be printed on the side of a van, with no thought as to how the final result will appear if the logo has to be shrunk to fit in a small print area such as on a pen or pencil. Equally, logos with multiple print colours, including tints or graduations, may look great on the letterhead however, when it comes to printing the logo with silk screen printing onto a promotional product, the price increases with each print colour and tints or graduations cannot be printed.
- Traditionally pens have been printed using silk screen printing, the design mostly consisting of name, address and telephone number, sometimes accompanied by a line art logo. Recent advances in digital printing technology have allowed promotional pens to be printed in full colour using digital printing. This opens up a whole new application as pens can be used as advertising pens printed with more than just contact details.
Here at Yo-Promotions we supply printed Promotional Products and Business Gifts, specializing in printed pens and environmentally friendly products. Check out our range of Promotional Pens and call us to discuss your needs.

BIOFREE - NOT A friendly ‘LIVING PEN’ - more a Mean Killing Machine
Over a year ago, Yo-Promotions launched the Biofree range of promotional pens after eighteen months of R&D, backed by one of the worlds leading manufacturers of sanitising chemicals. We had no doubt that our innovative approach to product development would spark many ‘Johnny-come -lately’ manufacturers to produce products along the same lines and we are now beginning to see some evidence of that - that’s life and we are all ‘big boys’. However, an element of desperation from our competitors as backrunners is no excuse for false claims about our ground-breaking product and unfortunately we are beginning to see evidence of this. For the record, here are some facts.
Biofree additive is moulded into the plastic – it is not a coating. It continues to clean the pen of microbes and other pathogens as you use it. It does not wear away. However, we would not refer to it as a ‘Living Pen’ but more a killing machine.
It is the same additive that is used in many medical plastics, top brand fridges and food processing equipment. It is a very tried and tested and as such we are quite open about the mechanism at work; silver-ion technology. No smoke and mirrors – just complete openness because it is proven technology endorsed by many of the world’s leading brands.
The product is fully certified by the manufacturer. This is relevant certification and we do not intend to cloud the issue by including references to certification that has not relevance to its sanitising properties.
Price – Well here is the real achilles heel of the competition. Here are our prices for the new Spirit Biofree.
