TO BRAND OR NOT TO BRAND?
When choosing Promotional Gifts to promote your business you have the choice of plain or printed items and gifts. Of course plain items are a little cheaper but branding adds very little to the overall cost and a huge amount to the success of your campaign and brand.
Recently the BPMA (British Promotional Mechandise Association) carried out a survey and the findings speak for themselves.
- 92% of companies who responded believed that branded promotional gifts increased their brand and company awareness.
- 82% said that they keep printed promotional items given to them.
- 76% said they could name a brand or company from a promotional gift or item on their desk without having to look at it.
- 52% said they had purchased from companies whose products they had on their desks.
Given the statistics above, it doesn't make sense not to brand your promotional giveaways. You need to capitalise on every opportunity to promote your business and brand.
The key is to pick promotional gifts that match your company, campaign or function and that are useful to everyone expected to attend. You want your gifts to be kept and used over and over again. Choosing the right promotional gifts for your campaign is as important as the campaign itself. For some industries this is easy, e.g. hotels have a huge choice of notepads, pens, pencils, sewing kits, shower caps, combs and other accessories. For some companies it is a little more difficult so the company slogan/mission statement becomes the key. We all recognise certain phrases which tie into specific companies, so even if there are no particular promotional gifts that match your business, your slogan will work just as well.
